This website is a place where I will curate my memories about computing and the internet from the 90s, in hope that you will find them interesting. I will write about current topics that I’m interested in, such as digital privacy and UFOs, and share details about my favourite books, music, movies, etc.
I decided to call this website "The Shore Road" in memory of my favourite childhood books - The Hardy Boys Mystery Series. The Shore Road is the road along the shoreline leading to Bayport, where the Hardy's live.
I grew up in the 90s. As I get older I often find myself longing for that wonderful era I grew up in. I fondly remember Geocities and my failed attempts at maintaining a personal website. After watching a few YouTube videos, I started delving into the Geocities archives, and realized how personal and light-hearted the internet once was. Then I came across Neocities.org. After promising myself for over a year that I will make a website here, I finally got around to it in Jan ‘25.
I live a fairly normal life in a populated southern city in the UK, although I’m not originally from here. I strongly suspect that I’m on the spectrum, as I have many hobbies and obsessions – things that most people cannot care for less. I will remain anonymous – but please do connect with me either through the guest book or via email, and I promise to write back.
Yours truly,
The Shore Road
